Simon Birch

Tonight, one happening reminded me of the movie Simon Birch, a story about a short-born guy who found the meaning of his life by saving a school bus full-packed with children from drowning in the river, though the seriousness level of today's happening was far more less than the story in the movie, since I didn't have to sacrifice my life for anybody.
This weekend, not like previous weekends, I didn't arrange special transportation (driver+car) for me, instead, I took company regular bus to go to Doha on Thursday night and return to Ras Laffan Industrial City where I live on Friday night.
Tonight at 22:30, on the way back to Ras Laffan Industrial City from Doha by that regular bus, at the check gate of the Industrial City, two passengers were found not having the gate pass to enter the City. Those two passengers were two Japanese guy, an old and a young guy, arrived in Qatar a week earlier for business trip. The Security didn't allow our bus to enter the city and we had to stay out of the city. While everybody in the bus was confused about what should be done, I took the move, asking the permit status of that two passengers in Japanese. I called our Business Manager, who was sleeping already, seeking advice what to do. Our Business Manager adviced me to take those two passengers to our other camp outside the Industrial City, about 20 minutes drive from the gate. Other passengers started complaining if our bus had to go to that other camp to take those two passengers since by doing that, we had to spend another hour before we could go back to our accommodation inside the Industrial City. I called our Driver Coordinator asking him to assign one special vehicle to take those two passengers to the other camp so that our bus could go directly to our accommodation inside the City. My coordination work did well, the two with the new driver were taken to the other camp, and the rest of us could return to our accommodation inside the City.
This small happening, though causing other passengers and I returned later to our accommodation, had actually helped me feeling important again, that I could help others settling problems. It was a fortunate, or a God's plan (?) that I used that regular bus, instead of arranging special transportation like previous weekends.
Understand why this incident reminded me of Simon Birch?! :-p
